Don Krim, President
Don has served as Director of Development and now President for 2.5 years. He has been asked to follow through for an additional year to transition JA’s board to one of governance, before moving to a Past President position. In addition Don mentors several students. Don has previously served as Treasurer, President, Past President and International liaison for the North American Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique. He also served as owner representative of a Tenant in Common owned office building in Los Angeles, CA, working extensively with both management and legal representatives. He is President of his current homeowners association in San Miguel. Don holds an MA in Theatre Arts, an MS in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology, and is a Certified teacher of the Alexander Technique. San Miguel knows Don as an accomplished singer and actor. Celebrated for his local performances, Don has had a successful career as a countertenor in the US and Europe, where he lived for several years.

Janice Lingley, President-Elect
Janice has been a Canadian educator most of her life, teaching all grades from Kindergarten to Grade Nine, Drama, Library Studies and ESL in London, England and Dusseldorf in Germany. She has certification in Librarianship and Special Education with Specialist Certifications in Physical and Health Education, in French as Second Language and in Guidance. After finishing the Principal’s Qualification Program Part 1 and 2 she became a Vice - Principal for the Toronto District School Board. Palmerston Avenue school with 3 streams - Gifted Programming, French as a Second Language Programming and Regular Stream Programming was where she retired from and started traveling the world to eventually build in San Miguel, where she now lives permanently.
With a BFA degree in Theatre Arts as well, she has worked in theatres in San Miguel doing Stage Managing. She is pleased to work with such a dynamic, supportive organization as Jovenes Adelante.

Chef. Adriana Vanessa Domínguez Espinosa, Secretary
Chef specialized in Traditional and Indigenous Mexican Food with experience in the restaurant industry for more than 15 years.
Graduated with a degree in Social Work from the National School of Social Work UNAM.

Currently during the pandemic, she undertook the project «Tertulias Gastronómicas», classes on the history of gastronomy, via zoom.
Advisor of the Aqua et Oleum Project in Extremadura, Spain.
Author of the book «El corazón en un bocado» 2020.

Herb Miller, Treasurer
Herb Miller is a Georgia Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience in audit, taxation and management consulting. As part of his community service activities, he has served as treasurer of several US non-profits and as board member of others. His business career included management positions with real estate, technology, investment management and manufacturing corporations. Herb is married to Sally Dorsey, has four sons and many grandchildren. After ten years of having a vacation home in San Miguel, Sally and Herb became a full time residents in October 2019.

Nora Weaver, Dir. Mentor Programs
“I am honored to assist this strong and dedicated team of mentors.” Nora says. “It’s exciting and inspiring to offer support to these gifted young women and men who otherwise would not have the financial means to attend university.” During her career at Delta Air Lines, Nora Weaver managed Sales, Marketing, Brand Management, Training and Leadership Development. In that time, she was known for innovation, results orientation and mentoring. In 2002, Nora retired and shifted to the non-profit world, working at Nicholas House, Inc. which returns homeless families to self sufficiency. Her service at one of Atlanta’s most respected charities began with executive coaching and followed with Interim Executive Director and board member guiding the Benevon Fundraising process. Nora then served as President – Nicholas House Board of Directors 2012-2013. Concurrent with her service to Nicholas House, Nora was a master facilitator and consultant at Falcon Leadership, a consulting and training firm that specialized in leadership in high-risk environments. Nora moved to San Miguel in 2005 and is now serving as Director of Mentor Programs for Jovenes Adelante.

Esther Rocha, Dir. Student Support Services
Esther is a Mexican psychotherapist who was trained in Milan and with the Jungian Psychotherapists Group in Florence. She began her professional practice in Italy where she lived for eight years. She continued her studies and professional practice in Mexico City where she received a degree in family therapy. She has been living in San Miguel since 2010.
